Title: Accounting Clerk
Salary: $60,000
Location: Athens, AL
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Clerk II position will ensure the company’s daily functions of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable run efficiently and accurately: while also contributing to the over support of the Accounting and Finance department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (but, not limited to)
- Generate and post customer invoices; ensure customer payments are properly applied and recorded
- Review, generate, obtain approval and post manual payment requests
- Prepare and process Accounts Payable and supplier payments according to accounting payment schedule
- Post Accounts Payable payments and Manage Accounts Payable Aging Report
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Ledgers and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable with the company’s subsidiaries on a monthly basis
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Assist with general ledger account analysis and reconciliations; preparation of journal entries and other tasks as needed for month-end close
- Support in the generating and publishing of the monthly financial statements and analysis reports
- Contribute to the development of company accounting procedures and streamlining processes
- Provide accounting support to other departments and maintain accounting documents and records
- Provide support and documentations for financial audits
- Maintain accounting files and assist with company record retention
- Other Accounting tasks as needed to support department
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general Accounting
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Will be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
- May be required to work beyond normal business hours including weekends and holidays.
