Looking for an On-Call cook. Part time may be available upon discussion and scheduling needs. No late nights!Essential Duties:• Prepare meals for residents, taking into account resident preferences and special dietary requirements, in compliance with applicable food and sanitation regulations.• Assist in the production of all menu items.• Demonstrate safe food handling procedures, with special emphasis on critical control.• Maintain consistently high cleanliness of work and storage areas.• Assist in maintaining an organized storage of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen products.• Experience working in the healthcare industry preferred.STARTING RATE IS $17.85-$21.00; experience is considered for higher wage.
Requirements/Responsibilities
Qualifications:- Must have prior culinary experience; or of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Must pass a California criminal background clearance.- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English- Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions, temporarily, when necessary.- Must pass a health screening test and drug screen, performed by a licensed physician, including a chest X-ray or intradermal test for TB.- Must be able to hear, talk, and have a clear vision with or without corrective lenses.- Must be capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously for the entire shift, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and manipulate kitchen equipment, including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, etc.- Must be able to work in wet and/or humid conditions, subject to extreme cold and heat, substances, chemicals, burns from equipment requiring precautions- Must possess ability to get along well with others and work as a team member, demonstrating flexibility and patience- Must be able to work independently and possess problem-solving skills- Must have good personal hygiene to comply with department of health practices and regulations
