SUMMARY Create and repair metal products through the MIG welding process and effective utilization of other fabrication tools. Expected to always operate in a safe manner; that includes operating equipment, operating to avoid material damage, and situational awareness to what is going on around workstation. Responsible for a quality product that is produced expediently. All work will be self-inspected and go through lead inspection as well as QA inspection for compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:Read blueprints and drawings to ensure proper layout and configurationFollow appropriate weld procedure according to the drawings as needed per jointPrepare components for fit up/assembly according to drawing & specifications (e.g. bevel, drill holes, miter)Operate angle grinders, magnetic drills, handheld plasma, oxy torch to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components in the jig using calipers, tape measure, level, etc. and clamp pieces into jig for fit upWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical & horizontal)Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyPerform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NoneQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
