Position Summary

Concordia University Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is accepting applications for the part-time Assistant Men's & Women's Bowling Coach

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and ensures the ongoing development of the athletic programming and activities of the bowling program.

  • Fully execute the policies of the Bowling Program and University as stated in handbook and Code of Conduct.
  • Participate Regularly in recruiting efforts for both Men's and Women's Programs.
  • Regular instruction / clinic development with all players in the program.
  • Regularly attend and fully engage in team practices including set up, take down, and classroom preparations.
  • Participate in athletic department events communicated by Athletic Director.
  • Regularly attend all program competitions and team functions including any required travel.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic progress of all student-athletes on the team and working to ensure success.
  • Actively participate in team activities including fundraising, team building activities, and other athletic department events or functions.
  • Reports any violations of College policy including any potential Title IX or other discrimination complaints or concerns promptly to the Athletic Director, the Title IX Coordinator or to the Human Resources Director.
  • Holds self to high standards of conduct, representing Concordia University and the Athletic Department as a team player, as a professional, and as a role model for all student-athletes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must have a coaching / teaching mentality that translates well to working with students.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all students, including students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and a safe driving record.
  • Must have ability to drive Concordia University vehicles and / or rental vehicles when attending tournaments that involve travel
  • Strong background in bowling, bowling equipment and lane conditions preferred
  • Knowledge in the trends of the respective sport
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin / Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.

This is a part-time position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. No benefits are associated with this position.
