Tri-County Technical College's Career and Employability Resources office is seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented team player to work with employers to meet their employment needs. The Work Based Learning Coordinator will implement a comprehensive plan to engage employers and develop work-based learning opportunities for students to include co-ops, internships and other experiential learning opportunities. As a member of the Career Services team, this position assists with resume preparation, interview skill development, and other skills valued by employers. Utilizes technology and social media to communicate to students and employers. Provides individual career counseling and proactively engages students and prospective students who indicate they are undecided as to College major or career path. Works with academic divisions to facilitate the delivery of targeted career development presentations to students. The successful candidate will possess skills in professionalism, advanced communication, collaboration, and working independently.
Job Duties Include:1. Creates and manages work based learning component materials, programs and experiences that purposefully maximize learning – from exploration to placement to advancement of the students' career goals. Components of the program include support services for curriculum based learning, opportunities for student reflection, standards and training for individuals monitoring the experience, assessment and evaluation of student and program outcomes, maintaining participation records and data analysis.
2. Collaborates with colleagues in the department, colleagues across the college and with area employers to provide applicable resources for curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular education for students, particularly (but not exclusively) as it relates to WBL initiatives.
3. Provides career counseling and readiness services to include assessment, industry research, job search skills, resume writing, cover letters, mock interviews to address workplace skills and needs of area employers. Provides support and retention services for enrolled students.
4. Working with a student learning outcomes framework, assists the Director and collaborates with the department team, in the design, development and implementation of programs and resources that support whole student growth and development for improved educational success.
5. Participates in professional development activities offered through the College, through the State Technical System, regional and national organizations as appropriate. Works within assigned financial parameters, supports department activities and other duties as assigned.Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in student services programs.Master's degree in Student Affairs, social science, business, or related field.
