Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee Production Operations: Manage the production process for all shifts of production, including scheduling, resource allocation, and work flow through the factory. Ensure that production activities are carried out according to established plans and procedures.
- Coordinate production to meet required schedules and efficient labor allocation.
- Conduct a daily start up meeting with associates to communicate expectation.
- Verify quality of product built.
- Support testing in the lab, as needed (can test the basics like IZOD, Impact, and Melt).
- Understand, comply and consistently apply company policies fairly to all employees.
- Maintain 5S standards: maintaining good housing keeping.
- Employee Supervision: Responsible for leading a team of production operators, and ensuring effective hand off from shift to shift. This involves assigning tasks, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback, and promoting a positive work environment to foster productivity and employee engagement.
- Monitor Operations Performance: Analyze production data to ensure production goals are met, and use good problem-solving techniques to address problem areas.
- Safety monitor safety incidents, conduct investigations, and ensure safety is first
- Quality Control: Monitor production output utilizing the IR's Information System (IRIS) to ensure it meets quality and cost standards.
- Delivery: Understand customer requirements, and work with the Production Control leader to effectively schedule the factory to meet on time shipments
- Cost (Operational Efficiency): Monitor production processes to improve efficiency and productivity. Implement continuous improvements to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Communication: Hold Daily production meetings with management to discuss production performance and improvement strategies.
- Maintenance: work closely with maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance tasks for the factory are performed on time, and reactive maintenance issues are prioritized.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintains accurate records and generate reports related to production output, efficiency, quality, and any issues or incidents that arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively seeks opportunities for process improvement and contributes to the overall growth and development of the production department. They stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to implement innovative solutions that enhance production efficiency and quality.
Competencies And Abilities
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and supervision skills to motivate and engage production teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address production issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using production management software and other relevant tools.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present reports, and provide feedback.
- Demonstrate good skill at using Microsoft products like Excel and Outlook.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of proven experience in production, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
Forklift Certified
