FRONT-END SUPERVISOR

POSITION DETAILS

Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Pay Rate: $20-$22 per hour

Desired Start Date: As soon as possible

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front-End Supervisor to join our team. The Front-End Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-end staff, ensuring outstanding customer service, and maintaining efficient store operations. This key holder position requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

This position is best suited for experienced leaders who have great communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and good business acumen. The Front-End Supervisor also administers training to new employees, so leadership and public speaking skills are highly beneficial in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage front-end staff.
  • Schedule staff to ensure optimal coverage during store hours.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Monitor sales associates to ensure they are adhering to the Employee Handbook regulations; follow proper policies and procedures for coaching.
  • Manage store associates on weekends when assigned as on-duty supervisor.
  • Ensure checklist duties are completed thoroughly and fairly between associates.
  • Schedule employee breaks.
  • Post and print employee schedules at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • Coach employees as needed.
  • Must adhere at all times to PCI compliance and ensure all staff is trained and up to date on policy and procedure. Complete logs as needed.
  • Must ensure all shortages of $10 or more are communicated to employees and proper steps and forms filled out for audit compliance.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating excellent customer service, full knowledge of POS system, punctuality, and proper cash management.

Customer Service

  • Ensure that all customers receive prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional and effective manner.
  • Promote a culture of exceptional customer service among staff.

Store Operations

  • Perform opening and closing duties for the store as a key holder when scheduled, following all security procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve register issues, ensuring smooth transaction processes.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate register balances.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-end area.
  • Must complete daily register audits for over and short variances.
  • Demonstrate loss-prevention through attentiveness and customer service.

Communication

  • Liaise with other department managers to ensure seamless store operations.
  • Utilize the employee forum to communicate important information and updates to staff.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to keep staff informed and engaged.

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to enhance staff performance and professional growth.
  • Ensure staff compliance with store policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work frequent weekends and flexible hours.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and calmness.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
