ChildServe is Hiring a Childcare Teacher Assistant (PRN Flexible Part-Time) Near Ames, IA
This position is available at our locations in Johnston and Ames.
Benefits And CompensationThis role offers flexible hours with no evening or weekend work required! Staff are eligible for a 403(b) retirement account with great company match, as well as tuition discounts to multiple universities. Our staff are also eligible to participate in the WAGE$ program which provides an additional stipend to individuals working in eligible early care and educational programs
The starting pay rate for this position is $13/hour.
ScheduleFlexible hours between 6:30am-6pm, Monday-Friday with a high need for support from 3pm-6pm.
More hours will also be available during the Summer months.
What You’ll Do
- Provide routine care for infants and/or children including diaper changing/assistance with personal cares, hygiene and hand washing, serving meals and snacks.
- Maintain children's safety by providing constant supervision in compliance with staff/child ratio requirements and utilizing name to face attendance log.
- Consistently assess and monitor children’s general health and report concerns to supervisor and family as appropriate.
- Complete tasks to maintain a clean, organized and safe environment indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain and support a structured environment and routine according to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports strategies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to families
- Documentation - Complete documentation accurately and according to established deadlines.
- Arrive on time and attend assigned training sessions, staff meetings and annual staff development training.
- Ability to pass a Child Serve physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs, be mobile within the classroom and playground areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand
- Ability to become certified in First Aide, CPR, Mandatory Reporter, Standard Precautions and DHS Pre-Service Essential training within 90 days of hire
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
- Experience providing care and supervision for children preferred
