As a Patient Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing outstanding medical bills and ensuring timely payments from patients.

*Responsibilities:*

* Contact patients with outstanding balances to discuss payment options and resolve billing inquiries.

* Demonstrate empathy and understanding while communicating with patients, addressing their concerns, and providing clear explanations of charges.

* Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to verify insurance coverage and facilitate payment processing.

* Utilize effective negotiation skills to collect payments while maintaining positive patient relationships.

* Document all interactions accurately in our billing system.

* Assist patients in setting up payment plans and exploring financial assistance programs.

* Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards related to patient billing.

*Qualifications:*

* Minimum of *2 years of experience* in patient collections, preferably in a healthcare setting.

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to balance empathy and assertiveness.

* Proficiency in medical billing software and familiarity with insurance claims processes.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
