Greystones is seeking a Systems Engineer II who applies the principles and techniques of systems engineering to design and develop networks and design of data exchange standards such as APIs, cloud storage, and access-denied environments.

This position is hybrid, reporting to Falls Church, Alexandria, or Arlington VA weekly.

Major Duties/Tasks:

• Ensure that team members are proposing and working towards a common interoperable technical vision and goal.
• Collaborate with technical leadership alongside industry and government partners to establish high level data mesh design patterns and prototypes or proofs of concept suited to a complex multi-vendor, multi-organization environment.
• Proactively identify and develop solutions to mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance within global standards as well as interoperability within DoD systems.
• Create and review relevant documentation, such as diagrams, detailed assessments, and design documents of other team members.
• Assist in the evaluation of new products and services; make recommendations for improvements and assist in the development and documentation of network architecture.
• Serves as a technical advisor in formulating technical approaches, selection of tools, methods for solving customer problems, and utilizing artificial intelligence in a timely manner.
• Communicate with organizations to obtain or exchange complex technical information.
• Ensure all the functional and performance analysis models developed reflect the operational performance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering or related field plus at least 4 years’ experience or a Masters Degree plus 2 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Experience with network design/development and design of data exchange standards such as APIs, cloud storage, and access-denied environments.
• Technical writing skills.
• Experience in Python programming.
• Experience in an industry-standard Software Engineering software (e.g., Cameo).
• Familiarity and understanding of:
• Data Mesh Design, Systems of Systems, Systems Engineering
• Access Management
• DoD Classification Implementation
• Microservice Architecture
• Zero Trust Architecture
• Active Secret Clearance
