Adams State University is Hiring an Activity Coordinator Near Alamosa, CO

Position Summary: Located in Alamosa, Adams State University is a state-supported institution in the San Luis Valley of south-central Colorado, approximately 3.5 hours south of Denver, CO and 2.5 hours north of Santa Fe, NM. The university is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and as a regional education provider. Position Description: This is a twelve-month exempt, at-will, full-time position with the primary responsibilities of assisting the Project Director in implementing three major projects to improve outcomes for Hispanic and low-income students at ASU: (1) develop and implement high-impact practices across curricular programs; (2) build capacity to implement internships as a high-impact practice; and (3) implement and expand grizzly persist workshops and peer-mentoring program. In addition to assisting the Project Director, the Activity Director works closely with High Impact Practice (HIP), Internship, and Grizzly Persist Coordinators to ensure timely and successful completion of the activities in support of the project objectives. The Activity Director will also work with campus-wide constituents including administrators, faculty, and staff to facilitate the integration of institutionalization of successful project components. The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education, federally funded grants, program development and evaluation, and reporting/compliance with federal regulations. The Activity Director will report to the Project Director of Title V, Cornerstone to Capstone grant. The position is temporary and expected to last for the remaining two years of the grant period, contingent upon satisfactory performance of duties and continued funding by the Department of Education. This position will not be institutionalized at the completion of the grant. Major Job Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the Academic Affairs Office, HIPs Coordinator, and department faculty in support of the development and implementation of high-impact practice curriculum redesign. • Collaborate with Student Affairs Office, Grizzly Persist Coordinator, and department staff in support of the development and implementation of 21st Century Skills workshops and peer-mentoring programs. • Collaborate with the Internship Coordinator, Career Services, and cross-campus constituents to implement an internship program that ensures HIP principles inform internship structure and evaluation, student learning outcomes, and maintains a system for tracking and monitoring. • Direct the collection of project data; Collaborate with various ASU campus constituents in the development and adherence to grant metrics per the Title Grant initiative. • Serves as a point of contact and subject matter expert for HIPs, will answer program questions from faculty, staff, and students, and serves as liaison to the campus, community agencies, and the general public. • Supports diversity and equity in the teaching and implementation of high-impact practices (HIP) in education and stays abreast of teaching and learning research in higher education. • Organize and partner with campus stakeholders to establish culturally responsive professional development for faculty and staff. • Participate in university committees and facilitate task force meetings as required or assigned. • Organizes, develops and conducts relevant workshops, events, speaker events, mentoring initiatives, and other programs to facilitate the grant projects. • Assembles and disseminates information as requested for internal and external individuals or organizations. • Assists with creating, composing, and editing documents, and presentations and creates and maintains databases. • Assist the Project Specialist with maintaining records as per grant policy and operational functions. • Assist the Title V Project Director with monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports as required. • Ensure federal, state, and institutional compliance. • Performs other duties as assigned to conduct grant business daily. Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Business or Humanities • Minimum 5 years of experience in higher education, including program development, management, and evaluation • Minimum 3 years of experience in grant project administration • Successful record in program implementation • Proven leadership and management skills • Experience in budget administration • Experience working with racially and ethnically diverse students, staff, and faculty • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Supports the Project Director with the preparation and monitoring of the fiscal and technical reports for the project. • Work with University constituents to institutionalize new programs. Compensation: This is an optional part-time or full-time, 12-month grant-funded position with an annual base salary range of $46,476 to $52,872.
