Aitkin Public Schools is Hiring a Head Volleyball Coach Near Aitkin, MN
Principal Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule practices and games
- Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement
- Teach and improve student athletes the fundamentals and principles of volleyball
- Develops appropriate training programs and practice schedules
- Ensures the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all volleyball/athletic equipment and uniforms
- Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of individual athletes and opposing teams
- Plan strategies/game plans for each game
- Arranges transportation for student athletes (may include driving) to practices and games
- Provides direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes (at every level) for games
- Ability to demonstrate proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation
- Call plays and make decisions about strategy and player substitutions during games
- Plan and direct physical conditioning programs that enable athletes to achieve maximum performance
- Instruct athletes on proper techniques, game strategies, sportsmanship, and the rules of volleyball
- Acts as a liaison in relating the volleyball program information to the athletics staff, parents and students
- Assigns duties to assistant coaches under his/her supervision; including pre-season and practice sessions
- Attends all practices and games and is punctual
- Attends all training and staff meetings, as needed
- Ability to work well with a variety of students, parents and other coaches
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to write general reports and correspondence
Bachelor’s Degree Is Preferred, But Not Required.Previous head coaching experience preferred
