Environmental Scientist/Planner (0 to 5 years’ experience)

Job Information. Aspen Environmental Group is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist/Planner in southern California. While the job is largely remote, the individual must live in an area close enough to commute to Aspen’s Agoura Hills office.

Aspen Environmental Group (www.aspeneg.com, IG: aspenenvironmentalgroup) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary environmental services firm that provides impact analysis, permitting, and compliance services for a wide variety of public and private clients. Aspen specializes in providing expert environmental services for complex, multi-faceted infrastructure and public works projects. Aspen has about 60 dedicated and enthusiastic employees located mainly across four offices in California. Responsibilities may include:

· Researching and clearly communicating complex environmental topics and issues

· Writing technical analyses for special studies or for CEQA/NEPA documents for energy and infrastructure projects

· Proofreading documents to ensure accuracy, precision, and quality

· Developing and maintaining background information

· Coordinating with specialists in other offices and with public agencies

· Supporting marketing activities and business development.

Education and Experience

  • Up to five (5) years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science or planning required (master’s degree preferred)

Qualifications for Success

· Strong interest in drafting written work product as the majority of work is focused on writing tasks.

· Exceptional organization, writing, verbal, and analytical skills.

· High standards for quality products, with attention to detail.

· Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; strong GIS experience and MS Project are beneficial.

· Experience or interest in energy is desirable.

Compensation. Aspen offers a wide range of benefits and a competitive compensation package. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
