The Staff Accountant is responsible for organizing and coordinating the general accounting activities for the company. Ensure day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger, prepare financial reports, and analyze and report any variances.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Full maintenance of the company general ledger, chart of accounts, and all financial records
• Lead the efforts to effectively close the books monthly / yearly
• Management of A/P, A/R, fixed assets
• Participate in a planning model, with major focus on balance sheet and cash flow
• Company financial reporting including the preparation of regular financial statements,
necessary filings, and any management reports
• Analyze and prepare accurate and timely weekly/monthly cash forecasts.
• Coordinate and interface with external auditors on annual audits
• Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate,
payroll, and other applicable taxes.
• Assist with payroll on a backup basis.
• Interface with the payroll system on general accounting matters as they relate to the State of
Georgia
• Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection,
consolidation, and evaluation of financial data
• Assist with customer inquiries on receivables.
• Assist with vendor inquiries on payables.
• Assist with month end reporting and review.
• Assist with preparing Journal Entries.
• Assist in financial statement preparation
• Performs reception duties, as necessary.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Required
A minimum of 2 years of accounting related work experience in a "hands on" capacity.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred
Proficiency in Excel, Word, QuickBooks and general ERP software
Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication and organizational skills.
High level of ability to interpret and analyze data and make recommendations based on findings.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to plan work effectively, to meet the deadlines assigned, and to make sound decisions.
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
