Description

The Credit Union Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the credit union operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. 

Responsibilities:

Keep up-to-date with federal and state laws and regulations that apply to credit unions and ensure the credit union is in compliance. 

Ensure departments are in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies to safe guard the credit union. 

Recommend changes to policies to improve compliance and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance is met with our BSA and Money Laundering program. Make sure reporting is completed in the time allotted and research unusual transactions to guarantee timely submission of reports. 

Oversee Vendor Management and InContract systems are updated and reviewed in timely manner. 

Perform compliance risk assessments and develop risk management strategies. Prepare and submit regulatory reports.

Requirements

1.DEVELOPMENT: The number and quality of compliance policies and procedures developed, updated, and communicated to the staff.

2.COMPLIANCE TRAINING: The number of training sessions conducted, the percentage of staff completing training, and the quality of training materials.

3.REGULATORY REPORTING: The accuracy and timeliness of regulatory reports submitted to the relevant regulatory agencies.

4.INQUIRY RESPONSES: The timeliness and quality of responses to regulatory inquiries and requests for information.

5.COMMUNICATION: The quality and effectiveness of collaboration and communication with other departments, management, and regulators.

6.RECORDKEEPING: The completeness, accuracy, and accessibility of compliance records and documentation.
