Directs and coordinates staff and activities related to the maintenance and repair of fixed facilities, equipment, and other RTC assets.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree Business or Public Administration, Engineering or a field related to the work, and seven (7) years of full-time experience in the construction, maintenance and repair of facilities, two (2) years of which was in a managerial role, preferably within the last twenty-four (24) months.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license at time of application.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace, criminal history records review and a driving history records check.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. A pre-employment drug test is part of the examination.

Work is subject to exposure to fumes, chemicals and solvents.
Coordinates, plans, and directs the activities and operations of assigned staff, including contractors. Consults with agency staff, executive management and outside contractors to coordinate, prioritize and schedule work. Analyzes, investigates, and responds to issues and concerns; ensures contractor compliance with service requirements. Develops and prepares work schedules, reviews maintenance reports and work orders to determine materials, labor and time requirements; prioritizes and coordinates duties and assignments to ensure effective workflow. Establishes and monitors work policies, procedures and standards; provides mentoring to supervisory personnel, assists with coaching and counseling for all support staff, guides corrective disciplinary actions as required. Manages RTC’s fixed facilities, equipment and other assets. Oversees repair, maintenance and expansion of Battery Electric vehicle charging stations, CNG fueling equipment and Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicle fueling infrastructure. Coordinates with Fleet department to monitor and provide maintenance of automated vehicle fueling monitoring system. Coordinates with RTC departments and external organizations for support of public outreach events. Provides staff for setup/teardown of events. Prepares and manages assigned budgets. Manages multiple projects/deliverables with short, targeted completion dates. Develops and administers a capital asset management plan, including programming replacement of equipment based on life cycle. Prepares and manages annual repair & maintenance budget and 10-year capital asset budget. Develops and fosters collaborative relationships internally with RTC departments and externally with organizations, local jurisdictions, stakeholders and the public. Participates in staffing and employee relations related activities for assigned staff and ensures adherence to RTC’s diversity initiatives in all aspects. Oversees safety and security responsibilities for areas assigned and ensures that direct reports are trained on safety and security procedures, fully compliant with procedures, and held accountable for breaches in safety and security protocol. GROUP INSURANCE – Health and dental insurance is available at a minimal expense to eligible employees, spouses and dependents. The RTC pays the monthly life insurance premium for eligible employees.
SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY INSURANCE – Eligible employees are covered by a Workman’s Compensation Program in accordance with the provisions of the Nevada Industrial Insurance Act (NRS Chapter 616) and the Nevada Occupational Diseases Act (NRS 617).
LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE – The RTC pays a monthly premium toward a long-term disability plan for eligible employees.
VACATION – Vacation leave accrual is based on length of RTC employment. Employee credited with 20 days of annual leave or a prorated portion thereof at the beginning of employment. Accrual will change to 25 days per year after 10 years of service.
SHORT TERM DISABILITY PLAN – A Short Term Disability policy is provided to Management employees at no cost.
PARENTAL LEAVE - Management employees can request up to two weeks of paid leave in conjunction with the birth or adoption of a child.
RETIREMENT – Full-time employees become a member of the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System under an employer paid plan.
CREDIT UNION – Clark County employees and their families are eligible to join the Clark County Credit Union.
ANNUAL PHYSICAL - Managers will be reimbursed for one comprehensive medical examination every twelve (12) months not to exceed $500.00.
FMLA – Employees who have worked for the RTC for at least one year, and have worked at least 1,250 hours over the preceding 12 months are eligible for the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act.
