Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Compliance, Safety & Risk Operations Director, this position has primary responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations of DOT Compliance. The Compliance Clerk monitor DOT and Safety qualifications of impacted employees and coordinates with management teams to prevent gaps and deficiencies and ensure continued compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Monitor driver qualification files for upcoming expirations and renewals and coordinate with Management teams to obtain necessary documentation to prevent gaps and deficiencies.
• Responsible for FMCSA reporting and management; specifically related to MIS drug and alcohol upon FMCSA request, FMCSA accident register, and Annual Clearinghouse queries.
• Provide support to the safety department to coordinate DOT compliance of the entry level driver training program.
• Manage random drug screening program and ensure compliance.
• Ensure all training and compliance onboarding documentation is received and properly filed. Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with required regulations and policies. Elevate irregularities or non-compliance to the Director(s) for review.
• Monitor and maintain current safety and industry certifications for effected employees.
• Coordinate with management teams to prevent gaps or deficiencies in certifications and documentation.
• Assist with accident and incident documentation.
• Provide support to Director(s) in maintaining various reports and data to identify areas of opportunity to address emerging trends and potential deficiencies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Prior experience in transportation
• Prior experience safety and compliance management systems
• Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
• Ability to create and maintain data and reporting.
• Strong organizational, communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to work independently and closely with other professionals.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to learn and utilize multiple software systems.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Requirements:

• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English

• May occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme noise, and physical harm.
• Occasional travel to company branch facilities, up to 10%
• May require on-call availability for incident response.
