Gateway Community Service Board is Hiring a HR Technician Near Savannah, GA

Job SummaryUnder general supervision, facilitates organized training and development activities of the organization. Facilitates basic core training using standards set forth by the state of Georgia. Performs Human resource-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, and affirmative action and employment equity programs.

Training
  • Under supervision, facilitates “New Employee Orientation” for newly hired employees.
  • Processes and disburses documents to all appropriate staff to ensure proper flow of the orientation process.
  • Provides guidance and expertise to incoming new staff and current staff regarding training.
  • Provides various pieces of training requiring training certification.
  • Assists with annual training for Gateway employees.
  • Assists with documentation of training plan compliance.
  • Maintains training records of attendees, course content, and other required information.
Administrative HR Duties
  • Assist the HR department with processing verification of employment.
  • Creates and distributes employee of the month committee mass email announcement and organizes winners' and nominees' information to submit for Gateway Gazette monthly submission.
  • Maintains HRM System (entering new employees and updating employees).
  • Upload employee separation notices, Personnel Action Request forms, and/or other related HR forms in the EZContent Manager filing system.
  • Performs quarterly chart audits on HR files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains a consistent, high-quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services to employees, job applicants, the general public, and other internal or external customers.
  • Responds and/or direct in-person, phone, and email inquiries to the appropriate HR delegates.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Reviews and processes personnel and/or position transactions.
  • Resolves personnel transaction problems.
  • Responds to inquiries about the organization and its employees. Provides information to employees on routine personnel-related issues.
  • Performs general clerical duties, such as answering the phone, maintaining files, completing reports, and performing limited typing or related duties.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences, and the like. Applies pertinent new knowledge to the job.
  • Maintains a consistent, high-quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services or products to employees, job applicants, the general public, and other external customers.
  • Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation.
  • Performs work according to all rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Required Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field from a college or university or two (2) years of human resource experience.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Some minor travel may be required.
Physical DemandsAn employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is a largely d\sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require lifting files, opening cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Gateway CSB promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
