We are seeking a highly skilled Congressional Affairs Specialist to serve as a liaison with members of Congress and their staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the legislative process, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of building relationships with congressional offices. The Congressional Affairs Specialist will play a critical role in advocating for programs interests, monitoring legislative developments, and coordinating engagement with lawmakers and their staff. Key responsibilities may include: Develop and implement strategies to engage with members of Congress, congressional committees, and their staff to promote our company's interests and priorities. Build and maintain relationships with key congressional offices, including senators, representatives, and their staff, through regular communication, meetings, and events. Monitor legislative activities, including proposed bills, hearings, and markups, and provide timely analysis and updates to senior leadership on relevant issues. Coordinate advocacy efforts, including drafting position statements, briefing materials, and testimony for congressional hearings and meetings. Track legislative initiatives and policy developments that may impact G2 modernization programs, and develop strategies for effectively responding to legislative challenges and opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including government affairs, legal, and communications teams, to ensure alignment and consistency in our advocacy efforts. Stay informed about congressional rules and procedures, ethics regulations, and lobbying disclosure requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex policy issues clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and accuracy. Required: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government Relations, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in congressional affairs, government relations, or related roles, with a focus on advocating for policy positions in a legislative environment. Strong understanding of the legislative process, including congressional procedures, committee structures, and the development of legislation. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with members of Congress, congressional staff, and other stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze legislative proposals, identify potential impacts, and develop strategies for advocacy. Experience working in government affairs, lobbying, or public policy roles within a corporate, association, or government setting is preferred.
