Role Overview:

AmpSurf needs 1 -2 Surf Instructor to run our summer surf camps for kids grades 1st to 8th (ages 6-14). Camp takes place at the Addie St. Beach Access in Pismo Beach.

Key areas of activity will be:

Manage and run all aspects of the AmpSurf Summer Surf Camp program with up to 10 kids each week at the camps. Camps start the week of June 10th -15th and run through the week of August 5th-9th. Camps are Monday through Friday each week and goes from 8am-2pm each day.

Aug. 12-16 (if camp is extended)

MUST HAVE:
Valid Drivers license
Clean driving record
Clean Background Check
CPR/First Aid Certification
Surf Experience
Ocean Knowledge

Surf Instructor/ Coordinator Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

· Kids Summer Surf Camp (June 10 through August 9, 2024)

· Implementation of program(s) to meet outlined objectives

· Planning and execution of weekly AmpSurf Surf Camp Program with oversight of AmpSurf Summer Surf Camp Attendees in Pismo Beach, CA.

· Program will include instruction of Students attending Ampsurf Summer Surf Camps, and anything else necessary to successfully develop the AmpSurf Summer Surf Camps in the area.

· Aim of running a safe, fun and encouraging surf camp while generating an increase in the overall number of participating students.

· Tracking of performance measures as outlined and agreed to by AmpSurf and the program instructor/coordinator.

· Weekly reporting of AmpSurf Summer Surf Camp attendance and Activities.

· Ensure all surf gear used is safely, properly and rinsed and stowed after each session(day).

· All wet gear must remain separate from dry gear i.e. wet rash guards and wetsuits kept separate from dry ones.

· All rash guards and wetsuits used must be rinsed and hung up to dry in a well ventilated area to prevent mold and bacteria growth.

· Surfboards and other equipment used should be inspected for damage and stowed so that no fins are getting damaged.

The work week will be M-F 8am-2pm for a total of 30/hr week for the Summer Surf Camp.

There is also the availability to do private lessons for 1-4 people separate from the summer surf camps
