FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES RISING INC is Hiring an IY Childcare Staff Near Chapel Hill, NC

Job Summary:The primary purpose of this position is to provide high quality child care to children of participants during the Incredible Years Parenting Training Program during classes.Major Duties/Functions/Responsibilities:This position will coordinate all aspects of the Incredible Years which include:• Establish and maintain an environment for children which is clean, safe, stimulating and appropriate for each child’s developmental level• Ensure that children are supervised at all times• Treat each child, co-worker and parent with dignity and respect• Support IY staff as needed• Reinforce concepts of the IY Program including, but not limited to using and promoting positive guidance techniques and a variety of creative and expressive activities• Be responsible for the appearance, décor, and learning environment of the classroom• Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staffQualifications and Knowledge/Skills Required:• Experience in providing childcare in a structured setting• Fluency in verbal English and/or Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills• Thorough knowledge of and ability to provide developmentally appropriate care and guidance for children of varying ages and abilities• Ability to use praise and positive guidance practices with children• Ability to effectively problem-solve and clarify expectations and program rules with parentsGeneral Staff Responsibilities:1. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assigned.2. Demonstrate familiarity with agency policies and procedures and the program mission.3. Maintain congenial and respectful relations with staff, children, families and community.4. Keep current and accurate records.5. Maintain confidentiality in regards to staff and family information.6. Maintain professional standards and professional courtesy policies.7. Actively participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing self-improvement.8. Fulfill role as mandated reporter as stated in agency Child Abuse and Neglect Policy.9. Be present at work in order to provide consistency of services.10. Be a contributory team member in a positive and productive manner.11. Flexibility to accommodate changes in job responsibilities due to changing program demands as requested by your supervisor. Demonstrate commitment to agency mission, values and policies in the performance of daily job duties.12. Commit to reflective supervision and cultural competence as a cornerstone of program and staff development.Other Requirements:Satisfactory reference check and criminal record checkSalary & Hourly Commitment:This is a part-time position with 2 hours - 8 hours per week at a rate of $15.75 per hour. Candidate must be available between 4pm - 8pm on weekdays. Additional availability on weekends preferred but not required.
