Crow Wing Recycling is hiring as we have had major growth and now employ over 300 employees! We are a family-owned business that buys, processes and sells scrap metals—ferrous and nonferrous—from automobiles, trucks, appliances, machines that are generated by industry through construction or deconstruction of facilities. We areheadquartered in Brainerd, MN and our environmentally certified facility operates in 9 locations throughout the state.

Due to growth, we are looking to add a new Load Inspector/Traffic Coordinator for our ferrous division at our Brainerd location. You will follow the direction set by the Ferrous Yard Manager. The essential functions may include, but not be limited to; inspecting all inbound materials verifying everything follows company policy as well as federal, state, and local laws and guidelines before receiving it. You are also responsible for the safe and efficient movement of traffic in and around the yard while maintaining clear professional communication with customers, truck drivers, and fellow team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment
• Greet and communicate with customers, visitors, and delivery drivers
• Guide yard traffic flow in and out to maintain efficient and safe operation of the yard
• Inspect all incoming material to ensure it meets company quality and safety standards
• Communicating with the scale house to confirm materials
• Sort recyclable materials to separate out high grade commodities
• Make appropriate decisions about commodities and deductions
• Record all appropriate information immediately upon inspection. (Take pictures of inbound loads, deductions, give percentages on aluminum)
• Walk yard and Clean dirty areas as needed
• Load and unload materials in equipment or by hand as needed
• Assist in Maintenance of the plant equipment
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Skills And Qualifications:

• 1 years Customer Service or laborer experience
• Forklift and/or Skid Steer experience a plus
• Customer facing experience; excellent communication
• Must be reliable, eager to work and willing to learn
• Must be able to work in a team environment or independently
• Must be punctual and demonstrate regular attendance
• Ability to continuously stand, bend, lift or walk
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Working Conditions:

• Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements
• Moderate to high risk of safety precautions
• Moderate to high exposure to production environment
• Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related)
