Summary/Objective:
Assist in the coordination of listed and detailed projects by entering orders, producing bar-lists so that material is delivered to the job site in a timely manner, assisting customers in resolving problems, issuing change orders, and entering data into Crimson Steel Supply business system. Additional duties to including assisting in the preparation of reinforcing steel estimates and quotes for both Highway and Municipal Projects.

Essential Functions:

• Must adhere to Crimson Steel Supply’s safety programs and standards
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Crimson Steel Supply’s Mission Statement and Core Values
• Read construction drawings and specifications and extract information to produce reinforcing bar-lists and to import orders into aSa Rebar Systems and into Crimson Steel Supply’s business systems
• Ensure proper coding of all bar lists
• Develop a working knowledge of CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, reinforced concrete construction and other industry practices
• Review and verify date of contract documents (plans, addenda and specs) received and compare against the date on proposal/estimate
• Process change orders to maximize all possible returns for the company
• Communicate with customer, placer and A/E (Architect/Engineer) on all questions relating to project; submit RFI’s (Request For Information) as required
• Assist Manager in the review of “listed” projects, help resolve discrepancies, enter bar-lists and coordinate the field’s requirement for delivery of material
• Under the direction of management, be involved in all construction conflicts/disputes (whether contractor, placer, detailer or shop), and help with a resolution that is a time and cost effective solution
• Compare the progression of project detailed weight against contract weight
• Identify and develop information required to inform customer of any changes (time and/or material) to the contract, including the completion of the change order form
• Review all claims of shortages or errors
• Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for listing and delivery of materials
• Perform other duties as required by your supervisor

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

• Ability to read architectural/engineering blueprints
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college preferred

• Construction and concrete related construction knowledge and experience particularly helpful
• Basic knowledge of construction or civil technology preferred
• Demonstrated experience in fabrication, installation/placing reinforcing steel preferred
