HireRPA is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Orlando, FL

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join a rapidly growing residential and commercial GC in the Orlando area. As a Construction Estimator, you play a crucial role in the preconstruction process. Your primary responsibility is to prepare accurate cost estimates for building projects, ensuring that bids are competitive while maintaining profitability for the construction firm. You’ll need a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation:
  • Pre-bid: Review project drawings, specifications, and site details to gather information necessary for estimating costs.
  • During the Bidding Process: Analyze direct costs (such as materials) and indirect costs (like overhead) to create precise estimates.
  • Post-bid: Ensure that all cost estimates submitted by contractors are as accurate as possible.
  • Bid Accuracy:
  • Balance the fine line between project costs and profitability. Accurate bids are essential for winning business and maintaining the company’s reputation.
  • Collaborate with project owners to understand their budget limitations and deliver competitive bids.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with vendors and trade partners to obtain accurate pricing information.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to refine estimates.
  • Contingency Planning:
  • Anticipate potential risks and uncertainties in project costs.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unexpected expenses.
  • Project Oversight:
  • Oversee financing aspects of building projects.
  • Ensure that estimates align with project requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in construction estimating is essential. Familiarity with various construction materials, methods, and market fluctuations is crucial.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills for cost analysis.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
