Skidmore Fomina PLLC is Hiring an Associate Attorney Near Bellevue, WA

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Skidmore & Fomina, PLLC is looking for a lawyer with two to five years of civil litigation experience. As an associate attorney, you will support the firm’s litigation docket. This includes conducting case evaluations, interviewing witnesses, drafting, and responding to discovery, taking depositions, participating in mediations, drafting and arguing motions in court, negotiating settlements, and taking cases to trial in collaboration with other attorneys at the firm. You must be able to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced and changing environments. This role is based in the Puget Sound region but will support cases state-wide and occasional travel may be required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school
  • 2-5 years of litigation experience
  • Ability to draft pleadings and motions, conduct depositions, and negotiate settlements
  • Having participated in at least a couple civil trials is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Washington State Bar Association membership in good standing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word (including formatting), Box (or similar), and Microsoft Teams (or similar)
  • Knowledge and experience in civil litigation
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, and written communications skills
  • Hands-on case litigation experience
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, growth environments
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and clients
  • Highest standards of ethics, professional integrity, and discretion
  • Logical and quick thinker with a clear and concise communication style (written and verbal)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with various client types
  • Consistent success in meeting deadlines or properly communicating delays well ahead of expectation
  • Confidence to primarily work independently and seek counsel from superiors when in doubt
