Edward’s Transmission Exchange is Hiring a Shop Foreman Near Carmel, IN

Edward's Transmissions, the leader in central Indiana, is looking for a transmission technician and shop foreman. The right technician must be proficient with diagnosing & repairing automatic transmissions, plus differentials & transfer cases. ASE certification is a plus, but not necessary!

  • Technicians perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on vehicles with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Automotive technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
  • Mechanics provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs as determined by complete inspection performed. We utilize industry labor and time guides built into our shop program.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service manager. Research TSB's and diagnostic resources.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

Requirements

  • Must have own set of tools
  • Must be dependable with a reliable source of transportation
  • Strong motivation to learn & succeed in the business
  • Must be able to provide customer satisfaction performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance services according to Ford’s standards
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

DUTIES

- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and brake system failures.
- Conduct inspections and testing of vehicle systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
- Use power tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs and installations.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service manager to provide excellent customer service and efficient workflow.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance performed on vehicles.

-Quality control check of completed work required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus.
- Welding skills are a plus, Not required.
