Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District is an Emergency Medical Service located in Alger, OH. We cover an entire district to include all of Alger Ohio, McGuffey Ohio, Marion Township Ohio, Roundhead Township Ohio, and part of McDonald Township Ohio. We have recently went from a fully volunteer department to a combination department of full-time staffed providers and volunteers. We offer a friendly enviornment and quite flexible.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiscal Officer to join our team. As a Fiscal Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and fiscal operations of our organization. This role requires strong knowledge of accrual accounting, fiscal management, financial analysis, corporate finance, and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to ensure the organization's fiscal health and stability
- Monitor and analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and provide recommendations for improvement
- Manage budgeting processes, including the development, monitoring, and reporting of budgets
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Oversee investment activities and make recommendations for optimizing returns
- Collaborate with the board and the EMS Chief to provide financial guidance and support decision-making processes
- Prepare and complete payroll both bi-weekly and monthly
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and other required reports
- Attend all board meetings and keep meeting minutes
Requirements:
- Knowledge of UAN (Uniform Accounting Network)
- Proven experience as a Fiscal Officer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles, fiscal management practices, and financial concepts
- Proficiency in financial report writing
- Ability to work closely with others
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to the board
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
