National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of the Central MS Area is Hiring a Program Support Specialist Near Ridgeland, MS

POSITION: Program Support Specialist

TYPE: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

WORK SCHEDULE: Tues -Thurs (11am-4pm), Fri (9am-2pm)

SUMMARY: This is administrative work responsible for providing office support, clerical, and daily bookkeeping tasks to ensure NCADD adheres to best practices and requirements for non-profit business operations and reporting. Confidentiality, efficient time management, excellent organizational skills, and attention to accuracy are essential qualifications for this position, as is the ability to communicate clearly. The work is subject to review through the Department of Mental Health.

SALARY: $12.50, hourly

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for essential tasks relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as directed by the Executive Director and in accordance with NCADD’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide information to the external accountant in a timely manner for the production of financial statements.
  • Maintain an accurate and organized file system.
  • Prepare report data for the Executive Director to ensure timely compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director as requested.
  • Check Inventory, order, and purchase office supplies as authorized by the Executive Director.
  • Respond to questions and requests for information from grantors, reporting agencies, etc., as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Provide customer service to bookstore patrons, those seeking referrals, and resources.
  • Answer incoming calls and other receptionist duties as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Maintains program files/records and calendar events and prepares and disseminates written/verbal information on program activities.
  • Compile data, prepare special reports, process request, and requisition and submit various forms related to program activities to the Department of Mental Health.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Knowledge of nonprofit bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles
  • A basic understanding of non-profit business operations
  • Ability to understand financial data, processes, and procedures
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Sharepoint
  • A high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Friendly and customer service oriented
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Support the organization’s mission and vision
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, details, and record-keeping
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment in completing projects on schedule
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple competing priorities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the field of public health, environmental and/or education, and experience working with the community and valued partners. Experience in project management is a plus. Retirees are encouraged to apply.
