Position Overview:

Reporting to Food & Beverage Management, we are looking for a seasoned, high-energy Lead Bartender/Mixologist with excellent communication skills and leadership qualities to oversee the Pescatore Restaurant bar and Hotel Zoe Bar. The Lead Bartender/Mixologist will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare/ serve beverages, and food. Create innovative drink recipes, educate the bartending team on service, quality and impart high standards for guest service.

Job Duties:

  • Work closely with vendors to source local wines, beer, and liquors. Schedule and attend tastings, providing feedback to the General Manager.
  • Utilize your mixology skills to create new and innovative drink menus with a consistent rotation. Train team members on how to craft a perfect cocktail.
  • Provide leadership to the restaurant/bartending team, attend meetings with Sales for BEO’s and Group Resume meetings.
  • Meet regularly with the restaurant and culinary leadership team to communicate any changes, upcoming events, feedback, and suggestions.
  • Inventory management- Ordering of alcohol and bar items to ensure a fully stocked supply.
  • Prioritize the utilization of overstocked items and fazing out unpopular liquor, wine, and beer.
  • Work with F&B Management on employee disciplinary and attendance issues.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate.
  • Continually strive for sales growth by having ongoing knowledge of all current menus.
  • Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging by anticipating your guest’s needs.
  • Set the tone for success with a positive attitude and sincere enthusiasm.
  • Engaging in clear, consistent communications with fellow leaders and restaurant staff.
  • Ensure every customer is served efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be a good example of policies and procedures while working alongside team members.
  • Ability to communicate restaurant and hotel promotions, local attractions, and points of interest.
  • Check guest identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Take Room Service orders when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion to guests and team members.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions.
  • Speak candidly and knowledgeably about Hotel Zoe/ Pescatore Restaurant programs and offerings.
  • Understanding of hotel restaurant operations; food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management as it pertains to the selling of food and beverage.
  • Any other duties assigned by F&B Management.

Qualification Standards:

  • Held a Lead/Supervisor position for 1 Year.
  • Bar Certification or License a plus.
  • Extensive Mixology background preferred.
  • RBS and ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the Lead Bartender/Mixologist may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the restaurant and hotel.

Wage Rate: $22.55 per hour
