Position Summary:
As a Convo Interpreter, you will provide internal interpreting services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing staff in an ethical manner in a call center. Convo Interpreters exemplify the ideals reflected in the Code of Professional Conduct, co-authored by the National Association of the Deaf and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, as well as Convo’s Statement of Mission and Core Values.

Responsibilities:
 - Demonstrate strict adherence to industry-wide and professional ethics at all times.
 - Maintain the confidentiality of information exchanged in an interpreting situation.
 - Observe Convo's internal policies and procedures at all times.
 - Contribute to the development and high morale of the company.
 - Maintain a friendly, professional appearance in accordance with internal guidelines.
 - Demonstrate a continuous commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
 - Set up and use computer technology efficiently for the purpose of communicating with team members as well as providing facilitation of video conference interpreting as needed.
 - Maintain 15 hours per quarter keeping working hours to weekday peak hours (Monday - Friday 6am - 4pm PT)

Interpreting Settings:
Convo Interpreters will provide excellent ASL/English interpretation services professionally and competently within a variety of settings, registers, and formats, which may include but are not limited to:
 - Video Relay Services
 - Interpreter On-Demand Services
 - On-Demand interpreting through video
 - Potential for Multiple participants via video and any number of participants in the same room
 - Planned services (conferences and VRI)
 - Potential for Multiple participants via video and any number of participants in the same room
 - Onsite meetings (when applicable)
 - Subject matter ranging from light daily assignments to highly complex business, education, medical, marketing, technology strategies, and solutions
 - Teaming with other interpreters
 - Wide range of topics and other unique settings

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 years (minimum) consecutive experience interpreting professionally as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Demonstrate expressive and receptive fluency with both American Sign Language and English
- High level of adaptability for working with diverse populations, as well as with leveraging various models of on-site, remote, and team interpreting
- Strong and exemplary interpersonal skills in all settings
- Openness with providing and receiving constructive feedback, support, and mentoring in a professional and positive manner.
- Have the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to work in a solitary, fast-paced, environment.
- Understanding of and willingness to keep up with video technology, trends, and issues
- Ability and confidence to succeed both independently and in team settings
- Basic knowledge of computer technology
