Job Summary:
The Medication Tech is responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by healthcare providers. They will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to ensure safe and accurate medication distribution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Medication Technician is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or senior living setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain resident confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with medication administration according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration and resident responses.
- Report any errors or concerns regarding medication administration to the licensed nurse.
- Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, residents, and family members regarding medication-related information.
- Assist with keeping medication storage areas secure and organized.
- Participate in training and education programs related to medication administration and senior care.
