Job Summary:

Our client's Estimating Department is responsible for preparing bids at the client's request and delivering comprehensive proposals. The Electrical Lead Estimator collaborates with the department team to determine project costs and potential profitability for commercial and mixed-use projects, aligning with department and company goals. We seek a proactive team player with a passion for securing profitable work and a drive for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, review, and interpret Electrical Drawings, related project plans, and specifications to produce comprehensive Electrical estimates.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed material, labor, equipment, time, and miscellaneous take-offs and estimates required for each RFP and project.
  • Estimate projects ranging from $10K to $20M in electrical scope from start to finish.
  • Perform precise material takeoffs.
  • Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
  • Evaluate vendor pricing quotes.
  • Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and conferences with clients and design professionals.
  • Respond to Vendor and Client inquiries regarding bid details.
  • Organize and maintain bid documents.
  • Participate in Project Hand-Off Meetings.
  • Lead and oversee other estimators and junior estimators.
  • Review RFQ/RFP documents for subcontractor and vendor solicitation.
  • Demonstrate expertise in all phases of electrical construction.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, safety standards, and contracts, reporting variances to the Division Manager.
  • Perform other assigned responsibilities and duties.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator for an electrical contracting company.
  • 3-5 years of Accubid experience required.
  • 3 years of Accubid LiveCount experience is a plus.
  • Ability to respond to customer inquiries or requests for pricing alternatives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Architectural Drawings, MEP Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Experience in utilizing Electrical Estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Building Connected).
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000 per year.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Insurance, and 401K with a 4% match.

Expected hours: 40 per week
