Bluegrass Recovery Center is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Louisville, KY

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing behavioral health claims. This is a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our organization and providing excellent service to our patients.

Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of documentation, including medical records, coding, and billing information
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain accurate records of all billing activities and transactions
- Collaborate with the Clinical team to ensure accurate coding and documentation for proper reimbursement
- Stay updated on industry changes and best practices related to medical billing systems

Skills:

- Experience billing for behavioral specialties, specifically substance abuse

- Experience with Kentucky Medicaid Preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for billing purposes
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10 coding guidelines and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve billing issues or discrepancies
- Effective communication skills to interact with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
