Are you ready to be a key player in the expansion of Frick’s Quality Meats, a leading packaged meat brand in the grocery retail sector? We're on the lookout for a Plant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess analytical and logical problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of manufacturing & standard costing, and a thorough understanding of financial entries will be required. Food industry experience is a plus. If you are a problem solver and analytical, we're eager to meet you!
What We're Looking For:
· Ensure the completion of month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
· Analyze variances with inventory accounts and manufacturing cost centers, to identify any potential issues prior to close and report on unusual spending. Understand root cause and drive for corrective action.
· Prepares various reports and surveys for federal/state governments or other external parties
· Understand accounting systems and investigate related issues
· Oversees Internal and External Audits. Provide information as requested and work closely with CPA during reviews.
· Work directly with HR Department on establishing proper monitoring, separation of duties and required reporting in the areas of payroll and benefits as related to accounting.
· Provide leadership on special projects.

· Strong quantitative analysis skills for processing and interpreting numerical data
· Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
· Advanced knowledge of sales practices including customer service, proven negotiation skills, forecasting and pricing
· Strong business acumen with the ability to negotiate and close deals effectively
· Ability to complete complex financial analytics and communicate results to financial and nonfinancial individuals.
· Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment and industry changes
· Thorough understanding of Frick’s products and services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· This position does not require supervisory responsibilities at this time. However, clear and consistent communication with the finance team, is required.
· This position reports to the Director of Finance and Analytics, who reports to the President.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time, generally Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with the occasional Saturday work for period end.
You will be provided with a computer, and any other materials necessary to perform your job function.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
· 5 years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
· 2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing ERP financial and operational software.
· Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
· Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, financial software, and financial analysis.
· Ability to complete complex financial analytics and communicate results to financial and nonfinancial individuals.
· Problem-solving aptitude
· Valid US Driver’s license
