Frick's is Hiring a 1st Shift Ready-To-Eat Department Material Handler Near Washington, MO

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Material Handler is responsible for supplying all areas of the plant with all necessary items for production. The Material Handler needs to know the basics of the Ross System.

Primary Duties / Essential Functions:

· Commit to keeping high standards of food safety and product quality of all Frick’s Quality Meats products

· Actively practice safety and cleanliness in all aspects of the job

· Know and practice proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

· Contribute to the team effort by working with other associates and following production policies and procedures

· Maintain awareness of and compliance with OSHA, DOT, USDA and other governmental agencies

· Sustain a constant sense of urgency and high employee morale

· Know and recognize quality products and practices, and take action when defects are identified

· Be constantly aware of expense control and cost savings

· Keep the RTE Supervisor informed on a timely basis of anything that could affect the performance of the RTE department and the company

· Participate in production training or continuing education programs to enhance industry knowledge and production techniques

· Project a positive attitude and protect Frick’s Quality Meats, Inc. image of honesty, integrity, and fairness

· Know and follow Standard Work

· Willingness to work overtime as needed

· Other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

Workplace Requirements:

· Stand (stationary position): Must be able to remain standing 75% of the time

· Walk (move / traverse): Frequently moves about inside the facilities to deliver production materials throughout plant

· Exposure to work (exposed, work around): Constantly works in cool, 45-degree, and damp conditions

Workplace Requirements (continued):

· Carry weight, lift (move, transport, position, put, install, remove): Frequently lifts production materials weighing up to 50 pounds overhead for various production needs

· Twisting, turning and bending: Frequently moves production materials weighing up to 50 pounds around production facility

· Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position): Constantly operates machinery and delivers production materials

· Climb or balance: Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and ladders to deliver production materials

· Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (position self, move): Constantly positions self to deliver production materials

· Talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information): Frequently communicates with co-workers and supervisor(s) regarding production requirements; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

· See (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, observe, inspect, assess): Must be able to identify defects and inspect production materials for quality

· Taste/Smell (detect, distinguish, determine): Able to detect ammonia smell

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred, or

Pass the following assessments:

· Frick’s Basic Math Skills with a minimum score of 90%

· Ramsay Combined Basic Skills for Food Industry with a minimum score of 70%

Experience:

Experience with assembly lines a plus.

Reliability or history of good attendance (2 absences or less) and must maintain good attendance.
