AWS Cloud Engineer

LOCATION: Irvine, CA. Monday through Thursday onsite, Fridays remote.

COMPENSATION: $80-95 an hour.This is a contract that will convert to full-time

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud engineering, Ops practices, and a proven track record in optimizing cloud costs. As an integral member of our team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement best practices.
• Implement DevOps practices to automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and monitoring of AWS resources.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes.
• Optimize cloud costs by implementing cost-effective solutions, monitoring usage patterns, and recommending cost-saving strategies.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay current with AWS services, tools, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
•  years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, etc.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize cloud costs through resource utilization analysis, rightsizing, and cost allocation tagging.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) preferred.
