ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and plan for the delivery of overall program curriculum and services. Define the program goals and objectives. Coordinate the utilization of human, material, financial and other resources in order to meet program goals and provide appropriate services.
  • Constantly monitor and evaluate the program operations and identify and implement changes to accommodate client needs, staff needs, building needs, and the effectiveness of services. Evaluate effectiveness of programs to ensure various program components (academic, therapeutic, residential, etc.) support and reinforce one another and meet all licensing requirements.
  • Supervise managers that may in turn supervise DSPs and other support staff. Perform a variety of administrative duties associated with supervising staff to include hiring, assigning work, developing performance plans, providing technical guidance and direction, and ensuring the provision of training and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director regarding the integration of appropriate clinical and therapeutic programs for the clients in the assigned residential programs. Work with all Grafton Administrators and Directors to define overall program goals for comprehensive services.
  • Recommend and may develop additional training for departmental staff. Provide guidance and direction to staff in difficult situations. Conduct staff meetings to identify program issues, staff concerns, new ideas, etc. Conduct and document monthly supervision with direct reports.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget; oversees the approval process of all expenditures and purchases.
  • Assist with the coordination and placement of clients in filling program vacancies. Participate in pre-placement interviews and consultations.
  • Work with other Grafton Administrators and Directors to discuss common issues, problems and solutions and make operational decisions.
  • Respond to inquiries, issues and concerns raised by the clients’ families and guardians and the referring community agencies.
  • Prepare and/or review reports regarding activities, accomplishments, status and issues of assigned programs.
  • Advocate for client’s rights.
  • Respond to and follows up on crisis interventions and incidents throughout the 24 hour period.
  • Develop new services as requested.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Requires:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling and two years of professional experience working with children, one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children; and one year prior supervisory experience, preferably in a residential setting; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling and three years of professional experience working with children, one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children; and one year prior supervisory experience, preferably in a residential setting;
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience working with children, one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children; and one year prior supervisory experience, preferably in a residential setting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license required.

Schedule varies and there will be admin on call duties
