ScribeConcepts is Hiring a Director of Project Management Near Charlottesville, VA

ScribeConcepts is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Project Management to lead our project management team and oversee our production team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects within the educational publishing industry. This role requires leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of project management methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop project management strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. This involves setting project priorities, defining project scopes, and establishing clear timelines and milestones.
  • Lead a team of project managers, while providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure effective project execution. 
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the project management team.
  • Define project processes and develop standard operating procedure documents.
  • Monitor progress, managing resources, and resolving any issues or obstacles that may arise for the project management team or client.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication, manage expectations, and address concerns to ensure stakeholder satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential challenges and uncertainties that may impact project delivery.
  • Develop risk management plans, implementing contingency measures, and making data-driven decisions to minimize project disruptions.
  • Conduct regular reviews, implementing quality control measures, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team.
  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints. 
  • Collaborate with finance and business development teams to monitor financial performance and optimize resource utilization.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, publishing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in project management, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership or management role. Must have experience managing a team of at least 5 people. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing publishing projects from conception to completion, preferably in educational publishing or related fields.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement, 
  • Proficient in project management tools such as SmartSheet, Monday.com, Asana, or MIRO.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Compensation will be based on experience. Range: $100,000 - $120,000
