Snout, Inc is Hiring a Head of Finance Near Los Angeles, CA

Job OverviewThe Head of Finance will be a critical member of our leadership team, responsible for managing all financial functions at Snout. This position is ideal for someone who has a comprehensive background in finance, including experience in financial planning, analysis, accounting, and compliance. You will oversee and ultimately responsible for our financial operations, budget management, financial reporting, and cash flow management in a dynamic startup environment.
Your priorities will be as follows, in this order:
  • Managing, auditing, and reporting on cash coming in and out of the company
  • Snout’s model depends on debt. Your ability to accurately model cash needs, work with lenders to secure debt, and manage reporting will be critical to our success
  • Lastly, reviewing and analyzing plan usage to optimize our our pricing model.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with leadership to develop and execute financial strategies across the company. This includes raising debt to fund our business model
  • Lead the company’s financial planning and strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and budget expenditures.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting services.
  • Analyze the company’s financial data, monitor cash flow, and identify financial performance trends with actionable insights.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar role, preferably within a startup or small business environment.
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with an ability to think strategically and lead data-driven planning.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage various stakeholders.
