Bridging People and Strategy for Business Excellence Human Resources Business Partner (Fixed Term Contractor) About the role Passionate about people and culture? Your next role will help execute people plans that closely support our organization’s goals. We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and personable HR Business Partner (Fixed Term Contractor) for approximately 6 – 8 months to provide expertise and guidance in all aspects of Human Resources to leaders and employees. Based in our New York office, you will support assigned client groups in employee relations, engagement, retention, and various people programs. What you’ll be doing As part of the People Team, you’ll partner with leadership to execute a business aligned talent strategy to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish business goals. Working closely with the HR Business Partner team, you will help shape HR initiatives, contribute to the development of people strategies, and serve as a champion for culture. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with: Collaborating with leadership on workforce planning, staffing, and retention. Serving as a trusted advisor, aligning people strategies with business needs. Drive HR programs for assigned client groups, including engagement survey action planning, talent programs, performance management, and rewards cycles. Conducting regular meetings with team leaders to understand talent requirements and business goals. Using data and insights to develop HR solutions and enhance employee engagement. Provide input to COEs to align priorities, programs, and content with the needs of the business. Support ongoing integration efforts such as policy and process alignment, Workday adoption, and other change management initiatives. Partner with COEs, HR Business Partners and Leadership to develop and execute communication plans related to business updates, cyclical people programs, and integration efforts. Connecting employees with the appropriate resources and points of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries. Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) with the utmost discretion. Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise. Conducting training on HR topics (e.g. leadership development, soft skills, HR processes, Workday). Conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations and proposing solutions for very complex employee relations cases. What you’ll bring Think you could make a difference here? You will also have some of the following: 5-7 years of work experience in a business partner or employee relations role. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field. Experience supporting senior leadership, at the VP level or above. A proven track record of developing trusting relationships at all levels of leadership Ability to navigate ambiguity, analyze information, and determining next steps where process may not yet be established Knowledge of state and federal HR regulations.
