We are hiring for Payroll and HR Specialist in our Brooklyn Location.

Pay: $18-$21/hr depending on experience

Schedule: Full-Time; Monday – Friday, 8:00am-4:45pm

Must have Consistent 1 1/2 yrs Payroll and HR experience

Job Responsibilities

• Co-ordination and management of workers compensation.

• Co-ordination of superannuation contributions ensuring company meets statutory requirements.

• Answering staff queries regarding payroll and human resources matters.

• Preparation of employee contracts and letters of offer/rejection.

• Provide advice regarding employee and industrial relations issues.

• Create job descriptions as necessary.

• Organize recruitment and selection including advertising, short listing applicants and correspondence.

• Ad hoc HR and Payroll matters.

Payroll:

• End to end processing of company’s payroll(s).

• Collate information for above, process, produce reports and journals and file. Prepare and remit monthly superannuation contributions and quarterly employee statements.

• Confirm discrepancies in time and attendance, authorized overtime, shift differentials or reason for absences, either paid or unpaid.

• Process child support deductions and garnishments.

• Prepare manual payroll checks as needed.

• Prepare code and process journals for employee provisions.

• Reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts.

• Preparation of various payroll related reports for managers.

• Termination and redundancy calculations as required.

• End of year processing and reconciliation including payment summaries.

• Prepares monthly payroll reports for the Accounting department.

• Responsible for remitting all non-tax payroll withholdings.

• Calculate and process commissions for sales representatives.

• Sales and Use tax returns.

• Performs other duties and project as assigned.

Skills

• Demonstrated end to end payroll processing and HR assistance experience.

• Customer service focus.

• Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Numerical ability and data entry skills.

• Ability to work to deadlines.

• Understanding of payroll and HR legislation and processes i.e. interpretation of awards and legislation, tax, superannuation

• Knowledge of PayCom a plus
