General Description:

The Sales Administrator is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Sales Administrator does this by providing direct support to the sales and leadership teams. The Sales Administrator also works directly with purchasing, suppliers, and customers on packaging updates. The Sales Administrator completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of dairy related products.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supports Sales Leadership in the management of sales, and relationships with key customers.
  2. Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  3. Acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  4. Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  5. Supports a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for designated periods.
  6. Reviews new and refreshed design artwork for all customers.
  7. Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  8. Participates in solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary Company personnel.
  9. Provides an immediate response to customer inquiries and positive, courteous service to all customers.
  10. Utilizes any opportunity to inform and educate consumers about company products and what the positive differences (value add) are in partnering with the Company.
  11. Receives new business leads via phone, e-mail and company website. Distributes to area Sales Rep’s and track.
  12. Creates, communicates and distributes Point of Sale, Customer Presentations and related marketing materials to Sales Team.
  13. Assists customers in sending information to customers such as Product Photos, UPC Codes, Spec Sheets, Nutritional Labels, Sales Reports, Item Information Forms for new customers, etc.
  14. Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  15. Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on their assigned shift and reports concerns to their supervisor.
  16. Works in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their supervisor and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
  17. Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
  18. Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adheres to sanitation practices
  19. Communicates effectively with all departments

Essential Knowledge, Skills:

  1. Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, to sufficiently handle job tasks.
  2. Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
  3. Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).
  4. Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving each of them.
  5. Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
  6. Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
  7. Skill in interpersonal and personal communication
  8. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels in and outside the company
  9. Ability to work within a diverse team of Sales representatives/support groups and achieve set goals
  10. Ability to identify and develop new business for purposes of company growth
  11. Ability to develop trust and strengthen partnerships internal and external of the organization.
  12. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  13. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously
  14. Problem solving skills with an emphasis on Continuous Improvement
  15. Computer skills, ability to work with (Word, Spreadsheets and Presentation software) and Mainframe system.
  16. Skill to actively seek out and identify opportunities

Education/Experience:

  1. Minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required

Performance Standards:

  1. Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager prior to the occurrence.
  2. Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.
  3. Responsible for being well-groomed and dressed in a business-and position-appropriate attire at all times including ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards.
  4. Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
  5. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
  6. Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Schedule:

  1. Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by Supervisor/Manager.
  2. Hourly: Generally scheduled for 40 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the business.

Environmental Concerns:

  1. Normally protected from weather and temperature changes possible exposure to hot cold wet, humid or windy weather conditions does exist.
  2. May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens
  3. May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.

Physical Job Requirements:

  1. Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building.
  2. Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
  3. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
  4. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  5. Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.

 Work Location:

  • Lafayette, NY

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $21.00 to $29.00.
