Description

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a management consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist to support projects for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education.
This role will support grantees, schools, and state educational agencies in implementing evidence-informed and innovative strategies and activities to enhance student and family engagement. Candidates will join a dynamic team of consultants working together to deliver best-in-class services while expanding our portfolio of clients and projects. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and/or implementing student or family engagement programs, including demonstrated expertise in grants management, collaborating with school districts and state education agencies. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in delivering TA to grantees, school districts and state education agencies. Effective communication skills are a must.Job Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, working with project staff and the client to establish and enact a vision.
  • Work effectively with subject matter experts to translate their expertise and navigate their availability into the development of high-quality products and services for a range of audiences.
  • Independently and proactively identify problems, and areas for continuous improvement, and to successfully resolve issues or put new processes in place to make those improvements.
  • Implement culturally responsive and research-informed family engagement and attendance systems, practices, and policies with diverse community partners such as grantees, school districts and state educational agencies.
  • Support project leadership and work independently from vision to final execution.
  • Oversee the development of technical assistance resources such as papers, reports, manuals, online tutorials, webinars, and resource guides.
  • Ensure a high quality of work through strong attention to detail.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment with a proven ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • 5 years of experience providing TA
  • Substantive knowledge of student and family engagement best practices and initiatives
  • Proficient in designing and delivering high-quality, high-impact TA to a range of stakeholders, especially grantees and SEAs
  • Knowledgeable about the projects and activities of the U.S. Department of Education
  • Must hold an unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite and willing to learn new technologies.
  • Experience in developing proposals, either for federal, state, or foundation.
