The Director of Procurement is responsible for the planning, directing, execution, and leadership of strategic sourcing, purchasing services, and vendor relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives to support organizational objectives and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Lead the procurement team in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting vendors for medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other goods and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors to ensure favorable terms, cost savings, and quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and finance teams, to understand supply needs and requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement inventory management processes to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and reduce costs while ensuring adequate supply availability.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform procurement strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement systems and technology solutions to streamline procurement processes, enhance visibility, and improve efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Successful management of procurement operations, negotiating contracts, and achieving cost savings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
