Full-Time Infection Control Preventionist / Nurse Educator

The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Assist the DON in the management of the nursing department in to maintain quality standards of care, including consultation to medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing service.
  • Provide input into interpretation of nursing philosophy and assists in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
  • Along with the Director of Nursing, promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training, May exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Ensure Integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
  • Staff Development
  • Identify current employees to be mentored into both personal and career advancement towards leadership position within the corporation

The primary purpose of the Infection Preventionist is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct our infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with the current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control program is maintained at all times.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
  • Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
  • Currently licensed as an LPN/RN in MN.
  • A working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/transmission-based precautions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
