Responsible for answering a high volume of telephone calls, redirecting calls to appropriate physicians or staff, scheduling (new) patient appointments, reviewing and building patient demographic information in IDX, scanning records into Allscripts. Other administrative front desk responsibilities as assigned by the Office Manager or Administrator.
Responsibilities:Answer telephones.
Triage & direct phone calls to appropriate individual or area.
Enter patient information into IDX system.
Schedule appointments
Assure appropriate referrals are in place for each Date of Service.
Verify insurance information.
Follow-up with referring physician &/or patient if referral is required.
Forward messages to physicians and staff in Allscripts
Performs other duties as assigned, according to the individual departmental needs.
Qualifications:High school diploma/GED with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience performing related functions in a medical practice is preferred. Previous front desk customer service experience will be considered.
Professional, customer service-oriented individual is required.
