Job Description

The staff accountant will support the Playaway Products Finance team supporting general accounting functions within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within financial reporting systems implementing operating procedures to optimize productivity and efficiency of organization’s accounting practices; identify internal control issues and make recommendations to address.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Research and resolve general ledger discrepancies and issues.
  • Participate in the month-end close process.
  • Assist with cash monitoring and management through performing accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile Intercompany monthly/quarterly/annual Sales Tax filings for states where organization has established nexus and state/government contract reporting.

  • Strong commitment to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite (or another ERP) highly preferred, but not required
  • Ability to analyze large datasets with SQL. Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Power BI to explore, analyze and present data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role/responsibility
