Job Summary:
The Sapling School is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Infant Teacher to join our team in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. As an Infant Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enriching environment for infants aged 2-18 months. This is a full-time, individual contributor role with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Infant Teacher position at The Sapling School offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $15.13 to $18 per hour, paid biweekly. Responsibilities:
- Create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for infants to learn and grow in
- Develop and implement age-appropriate learning activities and curriculum for infants
- Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to provide a cohesive and positive learning environment
- Keep accurate records of child development, attendance, and milestones
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Follow all licensing and accreditation standards and regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with infants in a childcare setting
- Knowledge and understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Passion for working with infants and their families
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
