Fusion Optix is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Assembly Group and play a critical role in supporting the production of LED lighting products. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations, drive continuous improvement, and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Solidworks PDM, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and lean manufacturing practices. Responsibilities: 1. Team Leadership: - Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and success. - Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork within the engineering team and with other departments. 2. Manufacturing Process Optimization: - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. - Utilize knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles to identify areas for improvement, implement process changes, and eliminate waste. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to streamline workflows and optimize production processes. 3. Solidworks PDM and Design for Manufacturing (DFM): - Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Solidworks PDM to manage product lifecycle and engineering change processes effectively. - Work closely with the design team to provide DFM feedback and optimize designs for efficient manufacturing. - Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of engineering specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions. 4. Project Management: - Manage engineering projects, including new product introductions (NPIs), process improvements, and cost reduction initiatives. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals, timelines, and resource requirements. - Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project completion. 5. Quality Assurance and Compliance: - Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. - Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues and implement preventive measures. 6. Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors for outsourced manufacturing processes or component sourcing, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Address any issues or concerns regarding quality or compliance of parts against agreed upon specifications.
- Work closely with vendors to implement process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and quality enhancements.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field. - Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in an engineering management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment focused on LED lighting products. - Strong proficiency in Solidworks PDM and experience with CAD software. - In-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and the ability to provide effective feedback to design teams. - Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies and process optimization. - Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines. - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive results. - Prior experience in the lighting industry or related fields is a plus.
