Database Administrator (MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)

Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full Time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, Maryland. Telework will be permitted, however, the candidate must reside within ~90 miles of Patuxent River, MD 20670 and must work onsite in Patuxent River, Maryland 4-5 days per month.

ROLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer databases including SQL Server, Mongo, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
• Ensure compliance to database DoD STIGs.
• Configure database backups in accordance with customer requirements.
• Perform database recoveries as required.
• Perform daily checks of databases, backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
• Troubleshoot databases, schemas, and user accounts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BA/BS/AA/AS degree and three (3) years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- HS diploma and five (5) years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above
• BS/AS in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Three years' experience performing database administration, installations, configurations, and upgrades with one or more of the following: Mongo, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• CompTIA Security certification.
• Active SECRET clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Experience with migrating existing databases to cloud-based (AWS) environments a plus.
• Experience performing Oracle and/or SQL Server database administration.
• Active TS/SSBI clearance.
